Coaching Staff

Coach Decker is the Founder & Head Coach of the Northern Virginia Pole Vault Club. A Fairfax native and former Division I multi-event athlete and pole vaulter at George Mason University, he’s known for his energetic, detail-oriented coaching style and passion for growing the pole vault community across Northern Virginia.

Coach Diaz joined the NOVA Pole Vault Club in the summer of 2026 and is on the staff from McLean High School track team.

Coach Ryan is a head coach with the Northern Virginia Pole Vault Club. A former George Mason University vaulter with a personal best of 4.52 meters (14’10”), he’s known for his quick takeoff and knack for turning “under” into an advantage.

Coach Trent an Assistant Coach with the Northern Virginia Pole Vault Club. He has an athletic background of lacrosse and pole vault. He competed with Chantilly High School and trained with George Mason University. He brings a passionate love for the sport and understanding of each athlete at their current point of pole vaulting skills. His personal best jump is 14-6.

Coming off retirement, coach Harrison joined the Team in the Summer of 2026.

Introduced as a new coach in the summer of 2026 and referred to us by Coach Steck, coach Uhle was also a Virginia Tech vaulter.
